I really don't mean to be a smart alec but I have a question about the routing of your water lines. I can't quite tell but is everything being cooled off of 1 inlet? If so, and you have a closed top, I think you might end up with heat issues. It might be better to run one into the engine head and 2 out of it to an outlet. Then a separate inlet from another pick up to the header and pipe flange. Better cooling. I have a similar boat and I have had heating issues in the past when I did not run dedicated lines (2) to the engine, header and pipe flange (Especially in Florida heat). Just a suggestion. I think the boat is awsome.

Most of us run one line through the head, into the exhaust than out the side. Personally Isee two lines going into the bottom of that head, then coming out from the top of the head two lines...one going to the pipe, the other to the header. Looks like a very efficient cooling system to me.
By the way, great looking boat and I absolutely LOVE your drive unit!

She sure does look sweet. I have a pair of those RCM drives and a MHZ gearbox set aside for my 65 Capricorn Apache. I cannot wait to get a few of our Apaches on the lake together.

Looks great. I'm a little jealous. Really like to know how you like your outdrive. Does it turn well? Is that 15% ramp up in prop speed noticeable? I was thinking of one for mine.
Once again, great lookin boat. How bout a vid? Love to see it in action.

What gears did you strip? Are you talking about gears inside the drive unit? I don't like the sounds of that. I've seen the way a square cable mounts into these things and it was advised to keep the square end at the right length by MHZ for some reason. I'm sticken with strut and rudder for now, but I like these things.

So are you going to try to make it out to the club lake this weekend?
Regarding my Capricorn, it is and will be a long term project. I already have three other Apaches that need to be finished up first.

Guys I got to see this boat first hand and words are not enough, the decals are amazing. The sound coming from the dual wet exhaust is low and throaty. To see two Apaches running side by side was just as amazing. More pictures soon.

Hey no problem. I was hoping for better pictures but with the excitment and the rush to get both boats in the water I did a piss poor job. I did get a chance to look at the the two chase boat videos and neither one is worth posting. We will need to try this again when there are less boats on the water.
BTW Leo is not a Jr. or II, just plain old Leo...
I luv f'n with the govt. Same First, Middle and Last. Birth dates are only 7 days (not counting the years) apart, the wife just couldn't hold him in any longer
It drives everyone nutz when we make travel reservations or fill out any applications. Just ask John and NAMBA
