As far as the 12FG goes, I have not seen anything that makes me think there is some systematic issue with it. The reports of people with no issues are far greater, but generate less noise, than the reports of issues. If you are uncertain about yours, send it in to be looked over. Perhaps that will give you some peace of mind. I know every 12FG I have seen has performed flawlessly.

My gut feeeling is that there is nothing wrong on a recurring basis with the 12FG/FASST system...period.

If it is a used radio I would absolutely have it looked over. You really do not know what it has seen as far as treatment, etc. A trip to the service center is never a bad idea.
I am struck by how often I see people writing about a crash and start with "The radio has worked great for 10 years now.." But ask how often it has been serviced and you will hear the crickets chirping!!

So am I the only one who thinks that the title of this thread should be changed by now??? Over 2 months old now and anyone "not in the know" just browsing through the thread titles and seeing that this thread has 4 pages on it could possibly think that the Futaba Fasst system sucks!!
I think we all know which radio system has had the majority of "lock outs" and it isn't Futaba, Airtronics, Hitec, Fly Dream....etc etc.
thank goodness the original poster spelled Fasst incorrectly!!!!!

On the other hand, if the guy who manages the Futaba service center has to ask "what issues?" in regards to the 12FG, either he's being disingenuous or there aren't any...I suspect it's the latter.
THIS THREAD IS DEAD....no carnage here...the tx/rx carnage is in another spectrum.

The only ''Fast lock out'' issues appear to be happening with a non-Futaba transmission protocol
Maybe a Moderator can read this thread the last rites?

Gee, can we shut this thread down? Now Please? Heck, someone might eventually stumble upon it and actually write something factual about a Futaba Fasst "Lockout" issue. We sure don't want that so let's lock it - NOW PLEASE!!!! I'm begging you, please shut it down. I can't stand the thought of someone writing something that might make me feel bad about all the money I spent on my cute radio system. Please hurry!!!
On a more serious note, I own both Futaba Fasst and Spektrum DSM2 systems that are all over 2 yrs old and I've never had any sort of issue whatsoever on any of them. I've been flying R/C for just over 38 yrs and started out on an old EK Logictrol system. Now that was a glitchy beast but I sure had a lot of fun with it. Heck, I'd be flying along and the plane would just pitch up or down or maybe just a twitch one way or the other of the ailerons or maybe a slight bump up or down on the throttle but luckily none of the "glitches" ever lasted long enough to cause a crash. Ah, the good ole days.
