flybarless main blades

What is the difference in the standard mains vs the flybarless main blades? Can a flybarless heli fly standard blades and vice versa?
Thx

I have a Velocity 50, w/Ys 53

RE: flybarless main blades

FBL blades are generally a little heavier making them more stable. Flying regular blades is something most FBL units can probably cope with but its like flying (very light) Radix Stickbanger blades on a FB machine.

In contrast, guys that fly smooth or FAI style aerobatics often times prefer FBL blades because they are more stable and auto better.

Some FBL blades also move the chordwise CG forward a bit for additional stability.

I say "some" and "generally" as each individual blade manufacturer as their own way of doing things.
