Ihave a tear in my Apprentice wing from the rubber bands and need to patch it. What kind of foam is it that I can use? Ijust need a 1/2" x 1 " piece to fit in there.

Yep. The foam Ipatched it with came from a piece of packing from a window air conditioner. I worked, but was more brittle and wound up splitting, and CA ate it up.

Idid more damage to the wing and may wind up replacing it anyway. Dang tree got in my way. It just jumped up out of no where and swatted my plane out of the air.

Brother acdii has a case of TRS: Tree Retribution Syndrome. Some treesgot it out for us real axe-swingin' lumberjacks. They don't see us plantin' the baby trees afterwards, I guess, 'cause we done chopped 'em downand they're already dead! Not really their fault then. Ignorance's bliss and all. Look out for all oak trees in particular. Wicked smart, and real fast for trees, those oaks are. Bite a plane's whole wing clean off, from the root.

Depending on the size of the tear...If you can push it back together just epoxy it. If you need to fill it, that can be done with hobby lite filler, sanded smooth and it works great.

Check out

model plane foam.com

These guys just went into business sell a hybrid version of BlueCore FFF. It's white and really nice to work with. Might be more than you need at the moment because they are only selling it by the box at the moment but if you do any scratch building you can't beat it.
