Inexpensive Zagi Upgrade
Is there any fairly inexpensive way to put a brushless
motor on my Zagi? I hate to have to replace the stock
speed controller or the battery.
I fly my Zagi so much I am burning up the brushed motors that
come stock after about 100 flights. They start to loose RPM's and then
the Zagi flies like crap. I would like to go brushless but want to keep it
cheap.

Unfortunately if you go brushless, you MUST use a brushless esc. If you do not want to replace your brushed esc, then there are some nice brushed motor upgrades to consider. I understand that the 6304L on this page http://www.hobby-lobby.com/ddsystem.htm is highly regarded. Also the Magnetic Mayhem http://www.yourzagi.com/motors2.htm#mayhem has gotten good reviews.
On both of these, however, you will still want to check whether your stock esc can handle these motors.
I'm looking at the same thing myself for my 400X.
Good luck,
Brad

brushed motors used direct current (dc)from you batteries. brushless motors require alternating currant(ac) that's why you see the three wires. the brushless esc takes the dc from your battery and converts it to ac.

Great question and here's the best deal i've found after reading and reading and scouring the net.
www.b-p-p.com
They'll sell you a Mega 16/15/X with a Castle Creations Phoenix 25 for $135. Talk to troy. He'll take 10% off if he doesn't have it in stock. the three turn is there now... the 4 turn is due in 2 weeks. Difference is 3 turn = more speed 4 turn = more thrust... flip a quarter
Good luck
