Default Zagi motors

I have had my Zagi for about 10 months now (and love it) and I have gone through 3 of the Zagi reveresed timed motors. I get about 30 flights of good performance and then it turns into a dog, it drops a couple thousand RPM (which is enough to turn it from a good flyer into a dog).

The motor is a 6v motor. The battery you get is a 9.6v NiCD. Isn't the overvoltage going to prematurely cook these motors?

Has anyone tried using a HiMax motor in the Zagi?

If you're interested in a brushless, I've had experience with the 16/15/4. That would be good on a Zagi.

Nearly everyone who has a brushless wing above 40" is using a 16/15/4 (assuming that they're using the Mega brand)

As long as you're using good cells, you should be able to get about 70mph in level flight.

All that & no maintenance!

Highly recommended!

Around here, most seem to use the 16/5/3. I have one and it rocks - much faster than the 16/5/4.

I also have a 16/15/3, but in a 36" E-Zipper MkII.

I don't know for sure, but many people will say that the 3 turn will not provide the kind of torque that the 4 turn will for the larger wings.

It does go like stink though. However run time is quite short.
