Default Using Scotchgard to keep foam clean???

Hope this isn't a crazy question - but does anyone know, or has anyone tried, spraying a coat of Scotchgard on foam planes to keep them clean? I tend to always find the one spot of mud or dirt when trying to land, and end up with a very dirty underbelly. Anyone know if Scotchgard would eat through the foam, or it it would even adhere to the foam? Thanks!!!!
