Hey, My uncle and I are getting into building profile airplanes. We are using the same type of foam as you. we tried to make a Biplane but then it just smacked the dirt.

This is Prop Buster's uncle (post above)... yeah, my plane smacked the dirt, like it was afraid of the air! Once we get done with our duct fan jets I'll re-tackle the biplanes, and hopefully make one that actually likes to fly. Oh well, live and learn...

Hey!
I've been thinking about building my own plane as a summer project. I just have a question, Where can i buy foam for a plane that is not ,like the first one, flat. I want to build a plane that is three dimensional shaped.

thanks

Hey I've started my p-51 build project.... (It's basically just something I'm trying to get flying). The fusalage is about half way done, so It's getting there! It's looking like one of em cheaper projects right now (probably will end up that way). The cockpit still has to be added on. I'm going to run it will a 400 brushed motor and an 8 cell pack! Heres some pics of the p-51.

I got this particular foam at lowes for cheap too. It's actually very strong and shaves down well. Althought for fusalages you will need to double up the foam with glue, depending on what kind of plane you make.

Hey I took my p-51 for it's maiden today. Well it didn't go as planned. It has plenty of power for it's size with the 400 brushed. Took right off my hand easily clibed then took a couple of turns..... flew for about 2 minutes and tried landing it. Except for the end of the wings caught the grass and ripped the whole plane up. [:@]. But who cares, it only cost me $0.50.. Well speaking of the bad landings with low wing planes I've decided to go on and build a high wing. Here's my j3 cub. No eletronics in picture. But here you go.....

I finish the completed fusalage in about one day. I'm not tottaly done with the fuse on my j-3 cub, I still need to cover it with packing tape.(Makes the plane much stronger). So to finish a whole plane (fuse, ings, etc..) it takes aout 2-3 days. Depending in skill level. These particular planes are very simple to build and fly well.
