Default Foamy Power system Help!!!

Guys I have a little flatout that I am trying to figure the power system out. I have a 20c 1000mah 3s battery pack, 25amp esc, and a little outrunner motor that I don't know the specs. Prop is a 9x5. My problem is I am frying the esc and battery pack. I hooked my wattmeter up and at full throttle am pulling around 40 amps, which is why everything is wrong. In your opinions is it a motor problem, or motor prop combo problem, as to why it is pulling so many amps? I really appreciate all help!!!!

Thanks
Doug

A smaller prop will definitely reduce the current. Without knowing anything about the motor, there is not much more to be said.

Does the motor have any markings or numbers on it? Can you post a photo of it? Someone might be able to identify it.

Ditto on that one!...

Does the motor turn freely? I have one motor that is made to spin at super fast speeds like 40,000rpm... I didn't know what
I was buying!... Turns out that brushless motor was for helli's and made to be geared! It was labeld like 96% effeciency and that's why I bought it.

I bought a flat out too (REFLECTION) and it's on it's second motor which is a 2409-08 Or something I don't remember -
For flat-out planes I like a big prop (like 11.47) with even less pitch and a torque-full motor.

I switched motors and the other only pulls 10 amps. I think the motor has a problem. It does turn freely though. Not quite as free as the new one.

Thanks
Doug
