There are several other Flatouts. Might one of them fill the bill? How 'bout one of their biplanes?

I like the turmoil, but they seem to have been discontinued. I may end up with another flat out but I think im looking for something else .
The eflight enticement looks good also but im not shure how my electronics would work with that plane .

I had an eflite 260 and it flew heavy also. went to a flat out patty flatty, and it was a real pain in tha butt getting the hinges together. The one i fly now was scratch built and i love it. It was made for indoor but it flies well out doors also. if you have the time, build one and see what you get. my nest one is modeled after an edge 540t balsa electric. just increased the aileron size, and tail feathers for max throw. Just remember that weight is the goal in a foamy. Hobby City cost me 64$ for the goodies for the edge. BL setup(motor,esc,prop,adapter)3 9gram servos and to 500mha 3 cell packs. It just depends on the time you want to spend on the plane. cost wise, it's about even between scratch and kit.

I cut roughly a 1/4" slot just below the carbon running down the fuse. The landing gear rod is solid 1/8" round stock. Then I made two 3/4" sqaure sheet balsa pieces where the gear passes into the wings. The two flats on the fuse are 1 1/4" x 1" trimmed out just big enough for the two rods to pass through. mix some 30 min epox and put on the two fuse braces, slide the gear rods through and put the 3/4" inforcements on the ends and then put the ends in the wing bottoms. Give it all a good but thin coat of epox and let dry.The wheel assem is simply a piece of .049 steel wire bent to shape with sewing thread wrapped aruond the carbon and steel and glued with CA.
