I would like to purchase some 1/2" and 1' thick plank foam from Home Depot but would like some pointers as to which is the best type to get from them for building some medium size foam models, eg. blue verus pink or white foam.

Hmm, all we have out here is the "white" kind. It is nice and light, somewhat squishy and floppy but throw in a little carbon and tape and you got one really, really strong wing. How big were you thinking of making it. Its light weight is to its advantage for sure!

I like the blue foam, its dense, easy to work and finishes nice.

I just purchased the greenish 1/4" fan fold foam baord.
So I plan on testing it this week with a monster 36" or bigger 3D foamy.

I will let you know how it works.

I called Lowes and homedepot and it seems we can NO longer purchase a 4x8 sheet of the blue foam board I a foamy built by someone else in the past?

That Blue Fan Fold looks to be about 5mm-6mm? How heavy is that compared to an equivalent size Depron sheet?

I build with Depron, 3mm and 6mm....had thought about giving that stuff a try.
