Any reason why you can't or shouldn't use a light weight covering like monokote brand (ultracote???) vs. spray painting. If you have to spray layers I would think the weight would about equal out.

Paint provided color but that is all.

Monocote and similar covering will actually add strength to the foam wing and fuse. As for added weight, well that may be a big deal on something like a Vapor and a non-issue on something like a Radian.
