[img][/img] Completely Pre-decaled Christen Eagle Biplane 6CH Receiver Electronic Speed Controller 35mhz or 72mhz FM Transmitter Powerful 1000kv Outrunner Brushless Motor 3 Servos (Elevator, Rudder, and Aileron) 11.1 Volts 1800mAh Li-Poly Battery 100~240v Wall Charger |
RE: CHRISTEN EAGLE RTF
Does it tell you the weight and what prop it's using?
|
RE: CHRISTEN EAGLE RTF
I dont remeber seeing the prop size on the ad. The weight may have been posted I'll have to check later.
If anyone has flown an Art Tech eagle please post comments. I dont have the time or money right now to get stuck with a dog :-). |
RE: CHRISTEN EAGLE RTF
I checked it out, it's running a 10X6 prop.. The only thing I see that looks funny is the 10A speed controller. A 1000kv brushless outrunner spinning a 10X6 prop "should" be pulling more than 10A.

RE: CHRISTEN EAGLE RTF
Thanks
I wish I could find someone thats flown one of these! I just don't have the time or money right now (just crashed my art tech cessna) to mess with something that may be a dog. :D |
RE: CHRISTEN EAGLE RTF
I have not found anything on it and no posts rom people that own / fly one. But after reviewing the specs for the 10,000 time I broke out the 150.00 and shipping and its on its way. I'll post something when it arrives / w pics. I bought art techs cessna and was pleased with it. For 109 bucks it was the best plane to cash deal I've ever had. I've seen some negitive press on it ( mostly take off problems ) but I hand launch at my field anyway. I hope that this plane has the same bang for the buck.:D
Anyone that is thinking of getting this plane and would like to hear my thoughts on it stay tuned ( shipping time 9 days) |
RE: CHRISTEN EAGLE RTF
It looks pretty good actually.. I found a spec sheet on that motor. It is here.
[link=http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=689687]http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=689687[/link] It shows that a 10x6 at 11.1v puts it RIGHT AT 10 amps. and plus you've got 4 servos to power... so just be careful to limit full throttle time. The power to weight looks pretty good too. Should be a good flyer. |
RE: CHRISTEN EAGLE RTF
Have you seen the E-flite Ultimate FX? It's a similar plane.
I've been flying one for about a month and it flies great. Very easy to hover. http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...ProdId=EFL2175 |

I got the Plane. There was a problem with the Art-Tech Radio gear (Junk) . I replaced it with n old futaba reciver I have. The plane flies great!:D
Outstand low speed performance, Snap turns and loops. I even got bold and did a littel inverted flying! Plenty of power and 13 - 15 min flight times. The only thing I dont like about it is at 2/3 and over power it tends to drift up and wont trim out. Its nothing a little down elevatior doent cure but I thing I'm going to have to recheck the center of balance. |

Hi ea01bg
How r u I just bought this plane yesterday I think it is a good plane the foam is strong enough battery life is about 15 min which is very good slow flying is lovely with this plane it has a fantastic glide when I bought this plane I thought it was a 3D plane , but I think u can do 3d moves with it have u tried it i can t go inverted with it , it always goes up I think i need to increase the weight of the nose bye |
RE: CHRISTEN EAGLE RTF
Mine thends to raise up also. A little more wieght in the nose wont be a bad idea. I think I'm going to do the same with mine at some point until til then I'll just keep working the elevator. I have done some inverted flight with it and it handled fine. The only real problem I had with it was wind. This plane does not handle well in the wind.

RE: CHRISTEN EAGLE RTF
I got one of these about 3 weeks ago, and -- though there are several problems with the plane the way it arrives -- I have enjoyed it.
They don't tell you a CG, but I figured one out -- and found the plane is extremely tail heavy with the battery in the stock location. Since this is a nice little plastic battery bay, you can't move it forward -- without pretty major surgery. I ended up doing this surgery, and -- though it doesn't look very good -- it flies pretty well. The stock brushless motor puts out only 105 watts on my Whatt meter -- enough to ROG and fly OK, but it seems to need about 2/3 throttle to stay airborne. Anyone who gets one should also compare the incidence between the two wings, and also the horizontal stab. These were pretty out of whack one mine, but it's not too hard to even them up. If you have modeling experience, or can get some help from someone who does, and you're able to make some adjustments -- this is a nice little plane, and a fantastic deal. |
