Belly Landing?

Ok I know that you can land a flat foam model, like a Nasty, with landing gear, but I don't get how you can land without landing gear with out hitting the prop on the ground. I seems to me that you would smack a 11X4.7 prop into the ground if you landed without landing gear. So if smebody caould please explain this to me I would be very grateful.

Thanks,
Kevin

RE: Belly Landing?

Most esc's have a "break" feature that when you cut the throttle will stop the prop from turning. I belly land most of my foamys and have never broken one. The APC are a little more robust than the GWS props though.

RE: Belly Landing?

The only time I broke the prop when belly landing was when I came in under power. If you have no throttle You will not break the prop. .I am not saying all the time you come in without power you will not break the prop. BUT most likely not.. I have done it for 3 years and only broken a few. If you look you can get a prop saver. Then the rubber band pops off and no breakky the proppy!!
