They're just ads. Another way for RCU to make money. I have no problem with that.

This is a public service announcement for RCUmembers interested. Contrary to what was said above we were paid $0.00 USDfor this. We thought some members might be interested in getting on television and sharing radio control hobby with others. Also a tv show on MTVabout radio control hobby would increase support for our hobby

Mine came from [email protected] ... different from what edwin gave
Ok - let me make sure I'm following this correctly. The first account, [email protected], was banned by RCU. Now emails are coming from [email protected]? And [email protected] doesn't have an account at RCU? Doesn't that mean that this startheli/startsales outfit now has our email addresses? I've had my current address for well over a year and have not received a single spam email on that adress until now.

Startsales and startheli are both banned.  both were found in our database.  Don't be surprised when he registers again under a new free email account and does it again and again.  it will be a matter of who can wear who down first.  he is coming in via many ip's. we have banned at least 3 ip's for him but if he gets a new one he'll be back

We can break him. We do the same thing to his sites.............I love making up a long letter consisting of hundreds of useless letters. I just keep hitting ..send.. to the same site and CLOG his mail box or staff.

We are legal to do it.
Lets pick a time and jam the smart .ss address.

I agree with the idea, but here in WA state unsolicited email is illegal RCW 19.190.

However, these guys at start heli have violated that law in part :

Washington's law makes it illegal in Washington to send an unsolicited commercial e-mail IF the e-mail is sent:

To a Washington e-mail address; or
From a computer located in Washington.
AND using:

False information identifying the point of origin of the message or that hides the true origin of the sender (Also known as a "False Header");
False or misleading information in the subject line; or
A third party's e-mail address (domain name) without permission.

It did come to Wa state email address (mine) and has a false header and used a third party e-mail address without permission (RCU)

If you received this email and live in WA state please contact the State Attorney General

We are not Breaking any law. We are each making sure he gets a email back from each person he sent to. I am replying in my own way.

I've never used the email link in posts, but it does not allow the sender to see the address they are sending to, correct?

So if everybody replies, then everybody gives their actual email address to this guy... assuming he has been doing this via the rcu email forwarder as suggested.

I just put all pests on my" blocked list ". Works for me.

Some forums WARN you if you send Emails you are giving out your Email address. Maybe he has a internal program code to access SECURE PM sites. Nobody really knows or admits to hackers abilities.

He is not hacking us at all. When you use the PM or tell a friend facilities on RCU we send out as a proxy. Just like if you try and contact a member here the email will not be exposed to you it is not for them either. All sending is done server side and we have no security breach. This is just a simple abuse of a feature that is meant to be used for good but he is using it for bad. We've dealt with guys like this before and eventually they run out of ip's or just give up because it is too much trouble. Also spamming does not help their cause or perception by potential buyers

OK

How about RCU giving him what he wants.
A free HONEST description of his bussiness ethics. Harrassment.
The post could be put into all the Talk sections of each groups of interests.

I love helping out a Dirtbag.........Right out the door.

I suggested the same thing in the other thread, but based on the reaction I’d say it aint gonna happen. We wouldn’t have spam email if they didn’t work. I’m pretty sure there are a whole bunch of RCU members who think that email was a legit endorsement and have or will set up an account with these guys. Even the threads regarding this are “hidden” in a forum where very few people visit.

Put a sticky that would appear at the top of each forum (like the child actor sticky) with a title like “Startheli Email Spam Alert” and the contents would simply read “this business abused our system and sent an unauthorized email to all active forum members suggesting RCU endorses the business. We do not endorse them, the email was a spam and their RCU account has been deleted.”

Since it appears to me that all RCU is going to do is downplay this as much as possible, I’ve come a to a decision. I have changed all of my account info and put in bogus trash, and sorry to say I won’t be using or visiting these forums any longer.

I just got a mail that starts with "The following was sent to you through RC Universe:"

The mail looks to be a legit communication from another forum member (someone asking for help), but I don't remember having the "allow members to send you mail" checked upon registration.

I would consider anything phrased that way a scam and just delete it.
