Edit time...
Not sure if you're already working on a fix for this or not.
I see quite a few posts where the original post was made... and the time shows up accurately on my end... but then they edit the post. The time of the edit is shown +5 hours, ie... next day, even if it was made within minutes. Sounds like a timezone issue, I guess. It just skews the timeline horribly, that's all. Thanks. Chris (Edited to see if it happens to my own) (Edited again... to note that it did not) |
RE: Edit time...
was not aware of this one...did you test it on your post above and it was fine? I think that is what your edit is saying?
|
RE: Edit time...
Correct.
My edit showed the correct time. (As do others within my timezone - EST) It appears that when someone from a different timezone than myself edits a post, I see the "edited by so-n-so at XX:XX" time as being "my timezone +5 hours". |
RE: Edit time...
For example... [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/Test_flights_during_a_jet_meet%3F%3F/m_1632127/tm.htm]this post[/link]:
Was made at 9:57:07PM my time... and edited at 9:57:44 my time. When I view that posting, it shows the 9:57:07PM creation, but the edit time is shown as "Message edited by jetjock50 -- 3/17/2004 2:57:44 AM". (Which isn't here yet) Just a heads-up. It's only mildly annoying, but a bug, nonetheless. |
RE: Edit time...
ok..I understand now. oddly enough the software should always skew the stamps to your timezone.
on a constructive note I just fixed that bug that shows the RE: RE: RE: thing. Should be gone in live threads and not appear anymore |
RE: Edit time...
That's what I thought... but it appears that when viewing an edited post made by
someone in another timezone, the edit time is shown as GMT instead of "user preference". Cool on the second part. I know you all work like dogs on this stuff. Thanks :) |
All times are GMT -8. The time now is 03:22 AM. |
