No email notification
 

For the last three or four days, I'm not getting notified by email when a thread I've subscribed to is replied to. Specifically, the EFlite Mini Pulse XT thread, which is very active. Also, I bought an engine from a member and it took three tries to get the invoice. I'm using Internet Explorer 7 which has its own surprises. Can you help me?

Email subscriptions do sometimes fail.

Go to MY ACCOUNT > FORUM SETTINGS > Thread Subscriptions/MyForums > click to unsubscribe the thread > click ok to save the changes > then go back to the thread and subscribe to it again

I wish I could be subscribed to a thread and not receive an email notice but be able to check my subscribed threads when I visit the site. That would be great.

I did what you asked, but when I tried to click on "Thread subscriptions/My Forums" I was unable to get the little hand to allow me to click on it. I got it for all the others.

I tried again and this time I got in. All the threads I go to are checked but none have "email notify" checked. I'm really confused now. Do I have to uncheck every thread I go to?

Just make sure GET MAIL (not EMAIL NOTIFY) is checked and you should receive emails. Also, make sure you're looking at threads (very bottom of page) and not MY FORUMS.

Click MY ACCOUNT > FORUM SETTINGS > Thread Subscriptions/MyForums > deselect email notifications from the threads you subscribed.

I've checked the threads I've subscribed to and everything is checked. I haven't been receiving any email notifications, including none from this thread. Amazing how many threads I've subscribed to over the years I've been a member.

This afternoon I re-listed an item for sale and did not receive an email notification as I usually do. I checked my virus program, AVG, and could find nothing. I checked my firewall, Zonealarm, also nothing. It's like I've been totally shut out from RCU.

check with optonline to make sure they are not blocking mail from our mail.rcuniverse.com smtp mail server

I will check with Optonline tomorrow. I got this email notification. First one in a week. I wonder if it could be something with Internet Explorer 7. I've had nothing but problems. They last about a week, then go away.

if you got this one then all is good on our end.

go to any ad in the market. click tell a friend link and send yourself an email and if you get it you are golden on our side

It won't allow me to deselect, I have to select one of the three options. Please explain to me how to change this.

It doesn't sound like you're in the right spot.

click MY ACCOUNT > FORUM SETTINGS > Thread Subscriptions/MyForums

There you should see a list of your "My Forums". Now scroll down below those and you will see a list of Thread Subscriptions with two options: 1) A check box to subscribe 2) A check box to receive email

If you deselect the email notifications that are currently selected you will stop receiving emails.
