Got hacked
 

Some of us are using older Internet browsers. And we feel every glitch. I could not tune into RCU for a while other day. Turns out that some reader was attempting to hack into system here. Not once but about three times over two days.

The moderators were onna ball, and stopped things dead.

If you posted a responce to any question here, it may not have been recorded. So do so again, but make it fast and more timely.

This is not the only site which got hacked in to during this time. For happened to two others I know of.

If that was a hack it was a pretty lame hack. Seemed more like a glitch in the code to me. It's happened on RCU before.

As for old browsers...the newest one is free.

Yes. The heads up from members by way of postings in here, emails and pm's alerts us more quickly so we can attack the issues when they occur which seem to happen every few months. Due to the number of database tables affected were more then I originally thought I ended up reverting to the last known good snapshot of our database to insure data integrity.

it wasn't just the old browsers,I was looking at the for sale ads and when I tried to veiw an ad I was interested in I lost rcu for a few minutes.some people need to get a life and stop trying to ruin things for others

I agree with iron eagel. It takes a lot to keep a site like this running as smooth as it has. A glitch or a hack now and then is no big deal from my end.
