Facetime FPV?

Im just curous, would it be possible to mount an Ipod touch in an airplane and then use the facetime app onitfor FPV flying?
If you don't know what facetime is, it is a video chat app.
If it would work, you could have range only limmited by your radio system in the plane as long as you have a cell phone signal.

That would be interesting to play with.

could be an expensive crash. :D also you would have to be 4G. if you only have 3G you would need to be in a wifi area. (prolly not great stength in the air even if you get it close to a router.)

I think the latency between what's happening in real time and what you see on the screen might guarantee failure.

RE: Facetime FPV?

Mounting an ipod touch on an airplane... Could be feasible but not cost efficient as you would have to buy one of those severely overpriced wifi amps. WHY they have to charge $1-2k to amplify a wifi signal by 10 measly watts is beyond me but if you had money to burn or already own one you could try it. It would be much much cheaper and better to just buy an fpv setup if you're looking for the cheapest way to have an fpv setup.
