Default 9C display Screen Replacement Advice?

Hi All,
I have a Futaba 9C Super and it is a great radio. It's getting a little old though so I am refurbishing it by replacing the case etc (I got the parts from Futaba service) and I was going to replace the clear screen that covers the LCD panel as well. I'm thinking twice about removing the old display screen (the part with the 9CAP Super text and PCM 1024 Radio text etc) because it is stuck done quite well and I don't want to ruin anything underneath. The replacement screen looks like a clear piece of plastic with adhesive backing.

Can you give me any advice on this? Do I simply peel up the old one and stick down the new one? I know whatever I do is at my own risk but better to have your comments before I try anything.

Thanks for any suggestions you can provide
Happy Thanksgiving too,
Dave

Hi Dave,

The guys here use a heat gun to warm the screen up, and then carefully pull it off. Be carefull not to get it too hot and remove it slowly and it should come off cleanly so you can replace it with your new one.

Thanks Krysta for the quick reply, as usual. I'll keep that in mind and see how it goes ...
take care
Dave
