Default Is S Bus for real?

Bax:

Why is it so hard to find info on the S Bus, specifically the 8J? The pdf download on the manual freezes on about the 10th page, and no where is there a how to article. Also, none of the satellite components required are listed on Tower.

Are you guys serious about S bus or is this some kind of crude joke?

I'm about a heartbeat away from switching to the other brand.

For the S-Bus, yes, it's real. Here's the website with videos showing it operating with ideas on how you can use it:

http://www.futaba-rc.com/sbus/index.html

When downloading the manual (or other large files), if it download freezes, it's usually the local ISP. You can get the manual to download by right-clicking it and using the "save as" feature of your computer.

If you send us an email, we can send it in an email reply, too.

I'm sorry you are not finding what information you are looking for regarding the many S-Bus items that we carry. We try to post as much information as is available when we receive new items in stock.

Tower does have quite a listing of these items, if you will go to their website and in the Search you type in S.Bus, this will bring up all of the S.Bus components from Futaba that are current.

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin....Bus&search=Go

The 8J manual may be easier for you to view if you right click on the link and "Save target As" to your desktop. This will give you the complete manual to read whenever you get the chance.

Please also remember that if you have any questions regarding S.Bus, we are available by phone, email, fax, and here on the forums ( whenever time allows ) to help answer any questions you may have.

Sincerely,

Thanks, guys. The right click trick worked.

I've been intrigued by this approach ever since working with highway vehicle systems that use a data link for information transmission and device control with only a pair of wires looping around the system.

OK. Now that I've been able to look at a wiring diagram and read a little about the system, here's my questions:

1. Is the 8J a full range transmitter?

2. I want to do an 8 channel setup as follows, using an 8J and a R2008SB receiver and don't know if it will work. All servos listed are analog micros (S3115s)

Channel 3 on Rx: ESC throttle control/power supply to Rx
Channel 5 on Rx: Gyro control (GYA430)
S port: single male/male cable (that I can make up?) to a four way terminal box
A pair of SBD-1 decoders plugged into the terminal box to which are connected the: nose steer servo; Eflite electric trike retracts; elevator servo; 2- aileron servos; rudder servo

3. I want to slave the nose steer servo to the rudder channel such that the servo will be reduced to 0 travel when the landing gear switch is placed in retract.
