Default 2.4 RX Antenna extension to avoid carbon shielding

Hi,
Can I extend one or both of the RX antennae to avoid carbon shielding.
If so - how do I do it.
Thanks.

You have to purchase the long antenna. You cannot "extend" the existing one:

HSP79766 9M08A17301 ANT BOAT ONLY 400MM US$12.13

These parts can be ordered through any hobby retailer who sells Futaba systems and accessories.

Does using the extended antenna reduce the range in any way? Do you extend just one or both antennas? This would be for giant scale aircraft use and in many cases it would be great to have one antenna a bit longer than the stock one.

Using the longer antenna does nothing to the range. That's because the antenna is actually the small, bared wire end. The rest is just the coaxial cable leading to the antenna. You would normally replace both short antennas with two long antennas in a large model to get them out of the airframe and exposed to the transmitter.
