I have to pull some of my trim levers on my 18SZ pretty hard to get them to work sometimes. Has anyone else had that problem.

Sounds like bad trim switches. You'll need to send the transmitter to the service center.

Is there a cost for that. My radio may be older than a year. Also would it be safe to keep flying until I can send it in.

Trim switches run about $3.00 each, labor would be around $40.00 or so. It can vary, depending upon how much work is needed.

Can you tell me the approx turn around time after you receive the radio. Can I request it be sent back via Priority Mail and if so how do I do that. I would also like to have it just checked out in general as I'm building a new turbine jet and want it to be in tip top shape.

Turnaround is currently 3-5 days repair-to-completion time. 2nd-Day shipping is $28.25.

Sounds great. I'm assuming I just put on the note with what I need them to check that I would like to have it shipped 2nd day or how does that work. Do they contact me for payment via phone or email. What shipper brings back the radio.

For 2nd-day or next-day shipping, there is an extra charge. We normally send estimates by email.

Sent in my Futaba 18sz for the trim levers. Futaba received the radio on Wed and by Thursday the repair was done and I paid for it that morning. They found 4 bad switches and then checked out the entire radio and a new update had just come out they updated my transmitter for me. I called on Friday to make sure it had been done and the girl who answered the phone checked with the supervisor and it indeed had been done on Thursday just not shipped back yet. I'm just curious as to when the radio will be shipped back. According to the work order 0392880 that I can view on line it has not been shipped back as of Friday.

Do you think it actually went out as it just showing that a shipping label was created. I'm just trying to figure out if I need to borrow a friends 18sz and copy my jet program in to use on Saturday.

Got my 18sz back today. They did a great job fixing the trim levers. They even installed the new update for me and checked the entire radio out.
