Default 10 CAP fail safe

Is there a way to see if the receiver went into fail safe? 14 chl.

Example: My turbine engine quit in flight, landed then checked the GSU display and it shows ( picture ) will that be a fail safe?

Tks.

No idea what that display is telling you. I assume you have your failsafe to kill the throttle? There is no way to tell if your radio went into failsafe. The radio does no retain a record of those events.

FWIW, I usually set idle rather kill for failsafe. If it goes to idle you know it was failsafe. If it dies you can only guess.

Thank you, I will give that some thought, I think I like that set up better when it comes to gas engines, turbines, different rules.

Hope I helped. I am not up on turbine ECUs, etc. If you need more guidance I can point you in the right direction to some Team Futaba guys who fly turbines.

I got it all figured out, the fail safe is programmed the right way now and working perfectly.

On turbines you need to program the fail safe out side the normal throttle range in order to make it work.

Thank you for all your help Bill, very much appreciated.

PS: I'm now looking to get a 14 chl Futaba radio ( need more chls )

AMA requirement for turbine ops is shut down on fail safe/signal loss

From 510-A
9. All radios must be equipped with fail safe and ECUs shall be configured to shut down the engine within 2 seconds of fail safe activation.
