Default 14SG battery fried

After five charging hours with the 14SG original charger, I diconnect the tx in order to do some adjustments in a plane. When I pressed the ON button the low battery alarm begun to blink and the charge level was near 5.2 v. Once opened the battery compartment, the battery was very hot with a burn smell. After some test with my charger is clear the battery is fried.

My 14SG is almost new. ¿What could be happen here?

To be clear, you were using the TX charger that came with the radio, correct?

How low was the battery when you started charging it?

It is possible that the battery is defective, or the charge is not functioning correctly.

Thank you for your reply. Yes I was using the original Futaba TX charger. The charger was diagnosed and is ok. I decided to charge the battery when the low battery alert begun to sound while I was making some adjustments in my plane.

Five hours later I decided to continue with my plane setup and discovered the battery damage.

I suggest you open a service ticket and return the TX, battery and charger to be looked at.
