Default 16iz Micro SD Card not working

Bill,

I purchased and installed a micro SDHC 32GB UHS-! card. The radio powered up ok but when I went to the system menu and the information menu it locked up the radio. I had to remove the battery to get the radio to restart. After restarting I tried to copy a model to the card, and it locked up the radio again. I'm guessing it was unable to format the card.

Is this not the correct micro sd card? I looked for a 16GB but could not find one locally.

Thanks

Jeff

What does the transmitter manual say? FAT32 doesn't normally support more than 4GB files and most hobby systems do not support exFAT32. The hobby operating systems still use FAT32 but modify it to be able to support larger than 4GB files. But they limit how big of a SD card you can use.
I had a similar problem trying to update my maps in my car. The manual said to use 32GB SD card but I thought I would get more use out of a 64GB card, so I tried it. Nope. Now I have a 32GB card with the map update and an unused 64GB card. You need to buy an 8 or 16GB card for your transmitter and save that 32GB card for your laptop.

I pulled the card out and put it in the computer and it did create two folders as indicated in the manual. The manual calls for up to 32GB. I found a 2GB card and tried it and it works with it.

I think my problem is solved however still not sure why it didn't work with the 32GB card.

Thanks

Some cards just do not play nice. I use sandisk cards. You do not want or need super high speed cards.

I found a 2GB card that worked. I was trying a SD brand card.

Thanks Bill.
