Futaba S9072SB Servos

Hi Hobbico,

I'm keen on trying out the S-Bus system and am Looking at the S9072 SB servo's for use in a 30cc 25% scale aerobatic plane.

There seems to be conflicting information about this servo on various websites and I have also picked up some errors on the servo specs on the Futaba website i.e voltage ratings of some servo's

Does the S9072SB servo have a metal, nylon or carbonite gear train?

Is the S9072SB and other S-Bus servo's LiFe battery compatible. I run 6.6V LiFe on the analogue servo's but am not sure of the digital S-Bus servo's.

I am considering these and the Hitec 5685MH servo's,

Hi TimBle,

The S9072SB has metal gears, with the first gear being nylon.

They are compatible with LiFe batteries at 6.6V.

Hi Helpdesk,<div></div><div>These servo's are fantastic on a 24% scale aerobat. fast and very accurate. Very impressed than you very much.</div><div>I would like to eliminate the orchestra in warm up mode noise that occurs on power up.</div><div></div><div>Do I</div><div>1) adjust the dead band of the servos to a greater value till the sounds stops,</div><div>2) balance the control surfaces?</div><div>3) leave it alone its natural for them to sound this way when the plane is not flying.</div><div></div><div>Your response will be greatly appreciated. I have digital servo's from other brands and all buzz but not quite as loudly

PS: I have the CIU-2 programming tool and software</div>
