14SG mechanical problem with RD

The right dial (RD) on my 14SG binds when I go to the 2 O'clock position. Around this area it is very hard to turn and
I was wondering if the problem is with the off centering (installation) of the potentiometer or the knob itself?

I haven't removed the knob yet to investigate but it is annoying that I received this with a problem:(

There is also 1 screw missing from each of the gimbal assemblies (top center). I doubt that this would be a cost saving issue but rather
someone just forgot to put them in? Maybe I can get Hobbico to send me them?

Great transmitter otherwise!

Wouldn't it be great if we could reset the timers without turning off the transmitter when the dial is locked? Maybe by pressing one of the silver buttons (once or twice rapidly)?

RE: 14SG mechanical problem with RD

We'd need to see what RD looks like by having the transmitter here. Your observation may be correct, but it may also be a bad pot.

The sticks are not "missing" a mounting screw. They only use three screws for retention.

As far as timers are concerned, you can set a switch to start a timer, stop a timer, and reset a timer. You don't have to cursor to the reset display on the timer screen. Please see page 165 of the instruction manual.

RE: 14SG mechanical problem with RD

Hi Bill,

I tried to remove the knob for the RD (right dial) and had some trouble getting a good grip to pull it off....

However now it no longer binds up for the full rotation. Maybe it was pushed down too tight and was
bottoming out somewhere???

Anyway it is working fine now:)

Thanks for the quick reply!

Michael
