18MZ to 12FG model data conversion?

Is it possible to convert models from 18mz to 12fg? Doesn't seem to work but just asking in case I'm doing something wrong. I just wanted to put newer models on the 12 for backup purposes. Thanks.

I don't think you can convert backwards, only forwards. . . The 18mz has longer filenames and other parameters that won't work in earlier radios.
