Post-Crash Checkout

Other than sending the receiver to the service shop, how can I check out an R6014FS receiver? All of the channels that were in use are working fine, there is no sign of damage to the case and the antennas look fine as they were pushed into plastic tubes to give the correct orientation and just pulled out in the crash. Of course I will do a range check once I get it in a new plane. (Hmm, just realized I don't need a plane, just tape skewers to the servos and walk away a block or so.) By the time I pay for shipping and a checkout, I could probably buy a 7-channel receiver as that is all I need for the next few planes.

The only thing you can do is a careful range check in a model with the engine running and then not running. You don't want to have diminished range when the engine's running versus not running. If everything looks good, you can then fly it in a model you won't feel too bad about its possible loss...and old "beater".
