12Z programming question...

I want to set up a safe/arm switch on an electric sailplane (for the motor).

I use Throttle Cut for this on my other electric planes, however this function is not available in the Glider menu.

I'm sure this can be handled with a program mix, but I'm not sure how to go about it.

Any ideas?

You use a condition.

1) Create a new condition and name it. It must appear at the bottom of the condition list so that it has priority over all other conditions. Select which switch you want to activate it.

2) Select the condition and then go into the AFR (D/R) section of the Model Menu. There, select the throttle channel and set the GRP/SNG setting to "SINGL". Then set Rate A and Rate B to +0.0. Set the offset to + or - 100, or more, depending upon which direction move the throttle to the lowest position.

Now, when you activate the condition, the throttle will be locked to the lowest setting, which would be "off".

There is no "Throttle" mode in the sailplane menu. Its called "Motor".

I tried it; no dice.

In the 12Z, you can set the motor channel to the stick with the trim, J3 and T3. You can then follow the procedure I described above. In the 12Z, it really doesn't matter whether you choose Acro, Glider, or Motor Glider. You can rename and/or reassign channels and functions however you desire. Even so, if you use the Motor Glider selection, you can still do the above with the motor channel that defaults to switch activation. Set up the Motor channel as described and when you enter that condition, the curve is flat at zero, so the motor switch doesn't do anything.

Okay, I probably did something wrong. I'll try again when the tail glue dries.

My 12Z for electric glider is set up with throttle on a 3 pos switch (full, cruise, off) and crow on the throttle stick.
A throttle hold is set up on the hold switch by condition to zero throttle as a safe switch (common to all my electric
models).
