Servos losing programming or TX wacky??

So I have a 10 cag, and mostly use Hitec digitals, Been experiencing subtrims and end point moving off previously set positions on a couple planes at least 3 now to date, I notice this when using multiple servos per channel, like dual elevator servos, I get to the field and one is off where they were matched via the TX mixing before.

Today I was working on my P-47 which i have a 5645 programmed to 10% speed and endpoint set via the programmer, it works my tail wheel retract. Runs off TX chn 5 which is still set 100/100%,, While working on the plane I notice the endpoints are now off on that one too, so much to the point it broke the servo tray loose.

Could I have done something or should I send the TX in??

Are the endpoints in the transmitter changing? Or are you observing the servo move too far after a while? Need to find out if it's the Tx or the servos. How are non-programmable servos performing? Are their endpoints changing?

Well, in the case of the gear servo No, TX end point was and still was set at 100/100, I had that servo programmed to set the end points.

Last time I noticed it before, it was dual elevator servos, they were not programmed although they are hitec 5625s, plane had flown and was trimmed, then I took the plane out a week later and they were not together any longer.

Same thing happened on a Cub I have Using Ail-dif, they became unmatched,, Trims were off almost like the subtrim was moved

only common denominator is the TX

Then the transmitter may need to be checked. If you can, try this with Futaba servos. That can help pinpoint the difficulty.

OK, if it happens again I'll send it in,, what kind of turnaround time would I be expecting?.

I have an 8u with a 2.4 mod as back up, but I have several planes I need 10 channel mode to fly

The radio shop is running about 3-4 days on turnaround, not including any time needed for correspondence.

Did it again,, Flew my 50cc Raven two weeks ago, everything was great,, take it out today and one elevator is way off,, Sucks I can't trust this radio any longer

Well good news and Bad news,,

I took the Raven out and while I was re programming the ELE mixing I notice that channel 8, which I was mixing with 2 had rotary nob VR(B) assigned to it instead of how it should have been set to "Null", once I fixed that the surfaces were again matched. Obviously I had moved that nob. Looks like this situation was user error after all on that aircraft, Still can't figure out why the Cub aileron servos were off, they were just Y harnessed on cnl 1, and the p-47 flaps being off is still a mystery too since I completely changed that programming after the problem, but could have been the same issue as the Raven.

Bad news,,,
Hovering the Raven about 75' up when it starts to drift towards the pits, I try to fly out of the hover and realize I have no control,, plane goes in full throttle in the corner of the pits. Fail Safe should have killed the motor, but didn't, Luckily no one or the thing was hit. Just a destroyed DA50 and aircraft. Rx will be canned as it blew apart,

So after I thought it was me not the TX, something lets me down big time,, the TX?? still a mystery, I'll send it in for testing I guess after my new TX shows up.

Which receiver were you using?

scale only 4 me 08-03-2015 06:35 AM

R6008HS in the Raven,
R617FS in the the Cub.

I know they have different Failsafe parameters

Bax 08-04-2015 06:00 AM

They also have different signal protocols, but when properly linked to the transmitter, so what... I'd have no idea what could cause settings to change other than there's a problem somewhere in the memory and processor of the transmitter.

I wanted to update this thread again,

I finally got around to fixing my 60 size Cub,, wind blew it of the start stand a couple months ago,, anyway Turned it on and the elevators (not the ailerons after all) were off again, looked and yes, just like the Raven the Ele-Flap mix Channel 6 was assigned a knob also, set switch function to null, the mismatched issue fixed. So the wacky servo issue was user error on my part, not the TX. The lock out?? might never know,, things happen,

Bax, thanks for the responses.
