Sbus-2

Hi,
I am setting up a new F3A model using SBUS-2 servos. I also have a number of telemetry devices feeding data back to my receiver (GPS and ESC information via SBUS-2 port) Is it OK to have everything connected to a single SBUS-2 port or should I split Telemetry devices to SBUS-2 and all my flight controls (servos) to SBUS. My SBUS-2 servos don't seem to work when connected to the SBUS port - only work when connected to SBUS-2. Transmitter 18MZ with supplied Fast-est receiver R7008SB.

You can connect everything together via a single S-Bus port on the receiver.

The S-Bus2 port is where you plug in the telemetry. You would use S-Bus2 servos, only, when connected to the S-Bus2 port. S-Bus2 servos, however, will work on the S-Bus and regular analog servo pins. When you connect the S-Bus2 servos to the regular S-Bus port, you may have to reassign them to the different channels, but the S-Bus2 servos should work on the S-Bus port.

Thanks Bill

I assume I have understood correctly that my SBUS servos should work in either SBUS port on the receiver. In the perfect world what would you do as best practice if you have the choice. Keep all telemetry enabled devices on SBUS-2 and keep all servos responsible for flight control on the other SBUS port. I assume both ports work independently of each other - does the receiver give preference or priority to either of these ports when processing data?

If your servos are S-Bus and not S-Bus2 servos, then they will only work in the S-Bus port. They will not work in the S-Bus2 port. Telemetry uses the S-Bus2 port, only. You can use both ports simultaneously.
