Modify Switch Function - 14SGA
I want to program one of the switches for retracts so only two positions are active. I thought I could do this using the Switch Setting Method as described on page 167 of the manual. But when I select the switch I want to use (SA) it never displays the ON/OFF page. Am I missing a step or going about this wrong?

Can you explain a little more about what you mean by "active"? When a switch is assigned to a function it basically operates to move the channel from one end to the other. Think of a servo. If you have a servo attached to a channel with a 3-POS switch the servo will be at one end when the switch is up, centered when the switch is in the middle, and at the other end when the switch is down.
ON/OFF usually applies to turning a mix or similar ON/OFF. If all you have is the retract assigned you will not see an ON/OFF. |

On several other airplanes with retracts, moving the same switch fully “up” retracts the gear and the servo stops running. With this airplane when the switch goes from “down” to the middle position, the gear retracts. However, if the switch moves to the full “up” position the servo runs with a grinding sound. I’m not sure how to remedy this situation. |
Are you using servo driven retracts or electric retracts? You can try reversing the retract channel. You can make adjustments in the endpoint menu or using the AFR to get the gear to operate properly.

They are pneumatic gear. The servo drives a valve to release air to the retracts.
