Futaba PCM FM Radio Battery

I am looking to replace the Nicad batteries in my Futaba PCM FM radio and notice they offer a 700 Mah and a 1100Mah, can either battery be used would 1100Mah allow more fly time between charges?

Thanks

Which radio exactly and who are "they"?

i have two FP-T7UAP SUPER radios i am wanting to buy batteries for. the only place i was recommended to buy original Nicad pack is Batteries America. everything else i could find was Nimh batteries which i was told is not compatible with my charger and not as good as Nicad?

NiMH cells are great cells and make really good TX packs. Batteries America are good people.

But if all you have is a NiCad charger, then get a NiCad pack. If the 100 will fit, then it will give you some extra flight time

It's not 1998 anymore but I like old radios myself. Still, its 2022 with much better tech available for batteries. I got modern tech batteries with no memory issues, longer flight time, and I got a new charger. New chargers are cheap.
98% of the folks today use LiFe Batteries. I've been using lipo transmitter batteries for 15 years now in the 9C, 7U and 8U radios.
They push the voltage up a bit, but no ill effects. LiFe and Lipo both holds a charge during off season, and it's always ready to go.
You'll also want to upgrade your receiver batteries in the same fashion. I use lipo's for that too, and for my older receivers.

I don't know anyone in our club replacing transmitter batteries with nicads anymore. I've yet to find a battery failure from any brand of battery,
so the myth you got to go to "good people" to find reliable batteries with old tech, is not what everyone I talk to is choosing to do.
Battery failures are extremely rare. I'd throw that overnight wall charger in a drawer, but it's your choice.

They claim 2000mah, but here is a cheap $14.95 Nimh Battery that ships inside the USA, not 6 weeks from China.

Quick reminder. This is not an open discussion forum. Please let's keep it to the OP and myself. Thanks. PM info is a good way to share.
