Changing Module on 9C

Could you confirm that it is perfectly OK to change the freq module on my 9C (change channel) without causing any problems.

Also, in another post you told someone they could not plug the battery into the DSC slot on their R149DP Rx. I have had mine that way (inadvertently) for some time now and it has worked perfectly. What is wrong with putting the battery in the DSC slot. Thank you.

RE: Changing Module on 9C

Hi splais,

You will not experience any problems with your 9C by switching the modules in it. This is the nice thing about a "modular" radio, is it's ability to be switched from channel to channel and band to band, just by using a different module.

As for using the DSC port for your battery, many years ago, we were told that this is not a wise practice to use the DSC as the battery slot for an extended length of time, as it could potentially harm the receiver. Today though, with the better technology, you should have no problems doing this without harm.

I hope you find this information helpful. You can also reach our Futaba support technical team at 217-398-8970, or via fax at 217-398-7721.
