Do modules go bad?
Hello
I recently discovered a problem with one of my FP-TP-FM modules, CH 16. I have several planes on Ch 16, and one plane will not work with this module, while all the others work fine. If I replace the module with a different one, the plane in question works just fine. Do modules become de-tuned? Module in question is probably at least 10 years old. If I were to want the module checked, would I have to return it with the TX or could it be tested by itself? Thanks in advance. IRL |
RE: Do modules go bad?
Hi IRL,
Yes, modules do need to be retuned occasionally. You may send in the module alone if you like, but it is always recommended to send the complete system in for a check up if the system is older. I hope you find this information helpful. You can also reach our Futaba support technical team at 217-398-8970, or via fax at 217-398-7721. RE: Do modules go bad?
All radio systems can have some frequency drift. Its probably a good idea to send in the TX's with modules and all the RX's to have them all checked.
Better to pay the bench fees than have a plane go out of control. (though this will be a rather hefty fee checking several RX's and multiple TX's...) I recently sent in a 7-UAP (via Radio South because its LONG out of warantee, and I like Radio South.) for checkup and repair of 3 broken switches. Well worth the cost to get rid of the glitching that was starting to show up. Appx 17 yr old radio and going strong. Futaba makes good stuff. :D |
