Futaba receiver question

I am about to start putting together my first 1/3rd scale plane and someone told me that the reason many planes have dual receivers was because one receiver can't handle the load of all the servos.

The plane I will be building will have 2 servos per aileron, 2 servos for the elevator, one for the rudder, and one for the throttle for a total of 8 servos. All but the throttle will be high torque digital. I was hoping to use one Futaba R149DP receiver.

Will there be any danger in putting this number of servos on the one receiver? I am particularily concerned because all the servos will be used constantly during flight, it's not like having flaps or landing gear servos.

What exactly is the safe limit? It probably depends on the actual servos used, but it there a maximum amperage a receiver can handle? I will also be using a 5 cell battery pack, or maybe 2. Does that affect the number of servos?

Thanks for any info,
Bill

Futaba receiver question

Hi, Bill, Many modelers run 7 servos off a single receiver without any problem; 7 high torque digitals in a high demand installation may stretch toward the limits, and this is one of the reasons some people use dual receivers to protect against this possibility.

I would first be worried, however, about your servo leads' ability to deliver the current before I would be concerned with the bus' ability to handle the current.
