Down Line Mix
I am trying to create a down line mix for my IMAC model. When I go on a down line the model tends to fly out to a level flight position. So..
I have been trying to set a mix with the throttle as the master and elevator as the slave. I want to put this on a switch so that when I go to land the elevator does not do crazy things as I adjust the throttle to land. I have tried a linear mix so that I can put the control on a switch. But I do not want this mix to happen until I get below 25% on my throttle. So I have tried to offset the point at which the mix starts. However this offsets the center of travel on my regular throttle control. So that part didn't work. I have also tried to set it up so that once I get below 25% on throttle my elevator goes to a fixed offset. I do not like this because I know the amount of elevator I need is inversely related to throttle. Plus with the offset mix I could not put the mix on a switch to shut it off to land. I wanted to know how you would recommend setting this up. What mix/mix type/how to do the offset(doesn't work until below 25% throttle) and have an on/off switch! Thanks BZR |
RE: Down Line Mix
Hi BZR,
Here is what I have set up on my radio. I did a mix with Throttle as Master, Elevator as Slave, link and trim both off, I assigned this to switch A in the down position. On the next page, I set the first rate at 0% the second rate at -100%, then used the Offset moved the throttle down to as close as 25% as I could and pressed the dial. What I end up with is regular throttle with switch A up, and with switch A down I get down Elevator which is porportional to my lowering throttle stick. I did not have a problem with this offsetting the center travel of my throttle servo at all. I am taking a guess here that you are using a 9C but this mix should work with the 9Z also. I hope you find this information helpful. You can also reach our Futaba support technical team at 217-398-8970, or via fax at 217-398-7721. RE: Down Line Mix
Oops forgot to say... 9Z WCII
I will try it again. Maybe there was something I missed? Thanks BZR |
RE: Down Line Mix
I do it a little different but leave mine on 100%.
I use a point mix and at the idle setting I add in 1% or 2% of down elevator. This way I don't have to worry about my pitch changing as the throttle moves. It does work great and doesn't show any problems at landing. |
RE: Down Line Mix
I tried it again and it worked fine...
The last time I did it I changed the mix time from linear to the offset then back to linear... Maybe this is what caused my problem. Other than that I did it exactly the same. However it works the way I want it too now. Thanks BZR |
