Flaps control on 6EXA

I'm trying to find out if it is possible to replace the rotary knob that controlls the flaps on my 6EXA with a three position switch? I would really like to have the reliability of having two set positions instead of just feeling for what works best. Is this conversion possible without sending the radio back to Futaba?

We're sorry, but there isn't an approved conversion from the knob to a switch for the sixth channel of your Futaba 6EXA transmitter.
