Timer mixing
 

Is it possible to somehow link a switch location to a Pmix so that when I advance my throttle past a certain point the first time, say for takeoff, the timer is started?

YES, set the switch to Stick and when you move the throttle to the position you want, then press down the dial to record that position. You are all set.

This is an amazing radio!
I follow you on what you said to do and I now have the "swtich" for the timer set on the throttle stick but I can't find the correct way to set the stick position I want to turn on the timer.
I pressed the dial in using various combinations but no luck.
What am I doing wrong?

Go in to the TIMER function on Page 2 of the Basic Menus and select.

Set the Time and Count up or down, then select Throttle Stick to activate.

Now move the Throttle just a little off the bottom and Press AND hold the Rotary dial for a couple of seconds.

The Timer should start when the Throttle goes past this postion.

But I wish there was a way that once on it would stay on until the radio was switched off.
If you are timing the flight for fuel use it makes it kinda tuff.
If you set it to a really low throttle starting point then as soon as you started fiddling around to start the engine it will start.
If you set it too high then when you throttle back during flight for stall turns and the backside of loops etc it will stop.

But when you throttle back, it's also using much less fuel, so this will increase your flight time. The key is finding that sweet spot on the stick travel that reflects how you normally fly, so all those combinations of timer starts and stops add up to your timer setting as the plane is running out of fuel. I use this technique with my electric powered planes. Not perfect, but better than a continuous timer, I think.

An ideal method would be to have a timer that accelerates when throttle is moved forward, and slows when reversed, with a user selected advance ratio to match their particular power consumption. I haven't seen this feature in a computer radio yet, but it's certainly possible.
