9351 servos
 

I have just loaded my new aerotech yak with these impressive high torque digital S9352 servos and have nearly finished the model. I run a 6 volt regulator and li-po's for the reciever power. Three of the 5 servos are violently gittery around neutral. I have swapped servos round. used ferrite rings on the extension to the elevtors and I now don't know what to do? I have never had this problem before. Can anyone offer any suggestions as to what might be happening??

Hi robortay,

If you are referring to the S9351 servos as your subject line states, these are recommended for 1/8 and 1/5 scale cars and were not intended for aircraft. If you prefer to try them, the best suggestion we have is to use heavy duty leads with filters and keep them away from any ignition system you may have on your plane.

Thanks for the reply, unfortunatly I have been mis informed by Ripmax as they state: 'This outstanding servo is suitable for many applications, particularly those where the larger, heavier servos are unsuitable, such as large scale 3D aerobatic aircraft using petrol engines.'

I have spoken to ripmax since and they have said the oscilations may be due to high inertia in using long arms . Unfortunatly I have spent a lot of money on these sercos for the wrong application.

I am disscussing their return with the retailer.

I sent mine back for repairs. They returned them and seem to be okay now.

I have been informed by a few guys sending me pm's that the problem is with the servo's being over sensitive and that they can be de-sensitised to stop them flaping around neutral. the problem is arising due to the servo constantly trying to center itself perfectly.
I am still trying to sort the probem out through my local shop.

Did you have a simular problem Ontariomystic?

I had 4 all doing that same condition. I sent them in under warranty and now they seem to be okay. I'm still waiting for winter to end so I can fly my airplane and see if they are affected.
