12Z using 149dp question

I read somewhere that I could send in a R149DP receiver and have it setup for a 10th channel for $50. Will this work with the 12Z tx. If it does work will it be a proportional channel?

RE: 12Z using 149dp question

Hi quist,

Yes, the R149DP will work with the 12Z as long as you have it in PCM mode.

We can modify the R149DP for you so that it has 10 channels, and the 10th channel will be proportional because channel #10 on the transmitter is proportional.

I hope you find this information helpful. You can also reach our Futaba support technical team at 217-398-8970, or via fax at 217-398-7721.

Will channel 9 be proportional also? Right now with this receiver I only have 8 proportional channels. Channel 9 is only and on/off switch. How will my 12Z transmitter program more then 8 channels in 1024 pcm.

RE: 12Z using 149dp question

You're right. You won't be able to get 10 channels in PCM1024 mode in the 12Z, and the R149DP receiver won't work on the PCM 2048-G3 mode. With the 9Z, the 10 channel defaults to switch D.

To get more than 9 channels with the 12Z transmitter, you'll have to go to a G3 receiver.

Our error....the receiver will work fine, if it receives information for 10 proportional channels. The 12Z in PCM1024 mode will only transmit 8 proportional and 1 2-position channel. We'd forgotten about the transmitter.
