9ZAPs upgrades
 

I have 2 9ZAPs radios. I understand there are software and switch upgrades available for these radios, 3 postion switches and more. Is there a list of what upgrades are available for the 9ZAPs ?? I'm getting ready to send both in for service. Thanks....Ed Miller.

If you have one of the original 9ZAP or 9ZHP transmitters, it can be converted to a 9ZAW or 9ZHW. These latter transmitters are also known as "WC1" versions. The cost is about $400.00, and involved replacement of the entire mainboard of the transmitter. We still have a limited number of these boards available, but once they're gone, we'd not be able to make any upgrades.

Per Futaba, there is no conversion available to make a "WC1" version to a "WC2". There are too many changes make it economical.

Some of the "do-it-yourself" changes only give you the look of the WC2 ve rsion, but do not include any of the software changes.

Yo cant take a look at: www.model-gadgets.com they explain how to get to the "SECRET" service menu and there you could change some of the parameters like selection of 3 posotion switches, of course this will require the physical change of switches.
