7UAF TREV function
I have a 7UAF I have used since new. Normally when I set up my airplanes if I need to reverse the throttle I would go to the REV menu and reverse channel 3 and everything worked fine. I had never used the TREV function.
I bought my first electric airplane and after installing everything I found the throttle and motor worked opposite. That is, full throttle, motor off. Low throttle setting, fast motor. Naturally the first thing I did was go to the servo reverse. When I reversed channel 3 the motor would not work at all. After an hour or so trying things, thinking it was the ESC, I put the servo reverse back like it was, the motor worked, but opposite the throttle setting. So I dug out my radio manual and found how to get to the TREV function and reversed the throttle there, now everything works right. My question: What really is the difference between using servo reverse for the throttle and using TREV? Does TREV affect the other three model settings? Will I have to go back and change them with servo reverse? BTW, although I am planning on buying a new 9 CAFS soon, I am very pleased with this old 7UAF. It has been a good workhorse. I will keep in operation too. |
RE: 7UAF TREV function
Hi RoyR,
The reason for the TREV is to allow you to reverse the direction of your Trim on your Throttle so that it will work at the bottom half of your stick instead of the top half. This will change it on all models. The Reverse function changes the direction of the specific servo action but not the trim action. I hope you find this information helpful.
