14MZ, 12FG, 12Z FM Modules - why so difficult?

I have on order a new Futaba 12FG 2.4 GHz from Tower. I called Futaba Hobby Services just a moment ago to order a FM module for it so that I can use my new radio and swap over to 2.4 receivers on different planes over a period of time so the hit to the bank account is not as significant.

Why are these things so regulated? I can order a 2.4 GHz module for these radios but I have to FAX in a copy of my receipt to even be able to order one of these modules? I was prepared to give this guy a credit card on the phone for the module. I can't fax the receipt. I'm on vacation in NE Wyoming. I asked if I could FORWARD the email receipt - he said no, I have to fax it.

What gives? Why is it so hard to give you my money :(

Thanks. I spoke with Tower and they said that once it ships they would fax over an invoice showing that I have one in route.
I just wanted to get this done while businesses were open and hopefully get everything set up so that next week isn't a big hassle. I was just hoping I'd be able to fly most of my planes with my new radio.

At this point it almost seems to have made more sense to buy the 72 MHz version of the 12FG then buy the module/receiver pack separately. That would cost even more though and I don't need the 14 channel G3 PCM receiver.

I appreciate you checking on it for me.

Shakes 268,
This may be a better way to go....
Right now you could get the 12fg/72 for 900.00, and today the 2.4 Module with receiver for 360.00 total 1260.00 for all. Your way you still have to buy a antenna...(you get the G3 receiver you can sell if you want)

Just a thought thats the way I went...

This is what I did also. But I ordered the module and two 7ch FASST receivers on a separate order to maximize the 12 ways to save coupons on Tower.

Hi, it's been 3 weeks since this post. I was wondering if you'd found anything out about making this process easier.
