14 MZ dual elevator

I'm considering acquiring a 14 MZ. Does this radio have a function similar to The JR10X which has a select option in the Tx menu ( D/Elev ) when using separate servos for each elevator ? Thanks

Yes, you select the "Ailevator" function when you set up a new model. You then enter that function in the Model Menu and disable the aileron movement of the elevators if you don't want them to work with the ailerons. You now have two channels operating the elevators: one channel for each side.

Actually in model type, chose 2 elev, then in the function screen assign whichever channel to your second elevator servo. So typically CH 2 would be "elevator" and CH 7 (or other of your choice) would be "elevator 2". This way you don't have to disable the aileron movement in the Ailevator setting.

Very easy to do multiple servos with the 14mz.

It sounds like Bax is giving you instructions for a 7C/9C type set-up.

Well, on the 14MZ and the 12Z, it's called "Ailevator" in the "Model Type" menu, and you adjust them in the "Ailevator" function in the "Model Menu". Not sure what your transmitter says, but that's what MY transmitters say.

RE: 14 MZ dual elevator

I must apologize to Bax. Bax I am sorry, you are correct dual elevators is called Ailevator and that apparently corresponds to the JR10X question by MaxMotoring.

I guess I wanted to do a little bragging on the 14MZ and show MaxMotoring other options.

What I should have written is there is at least one other choice than "Ailevator". With the 14 MZ, you can simply choose "Normal" tail and in the function screen assign "elevator", typically CH2 and "elevator 2", any other unused channel. I have this set up currently and just for fun went and checked it out on my plane to make sure I wasn't giving bad info. I am quessing there are more ways to program two elevators, this is the one that I choose.

I have a 14MZ and am amazed at the programmability and versatility. Not to mention that it plays MP3s :D.

Just upgraded my 14MZ to 2.4ghz and am exited to fly.

No hard feelings, Bax you are still the man.

Bill

Bill, I appreciate your advice as well. I have used JR for many years, my 10X is coming up on 10 years old and whilst I'm going to keep it I'm in the market for a new radio. I thought JR could have done a little better than the 12X and hence looking at the 14MZ 2.4 system.
