question about programable mixes.

Well..... this old goat finally got a computer radio!! ;) Everything is going well except I have a question about the programable mixes, 1 and 2, on the Futaba T6XA radio. I have set up my first mix OK....... switch up is off, switch down is on.
What I don't understand is how do you put in the 2nd mix choice, ( actually I should say "select" the 2nd choice via the switch once you program #2)?? OR can you?? I guess maybe I am spacing it, but the switch only has 2 positions... off and on, so I am lost on how the 2nd choice be selected? Thanks in advance.....lownslo...

question about programable mixes.

Hi Bob,

If you are asking, can you set the second Pmix to work off another switch other than what the first Pmix works off of, no.

Both Pmixes will work off the same switch and there is no switch selection screen on the 6X as there is in the 8U, 9C and 9Z.

You will set your one Pmix up on your Pmix switch, but if you make the other mix active, it will also activate with the same switch.

I hope you find this information helpful. Should you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us at 217-398-8970 for Support, 217-398-0007 for Service or via fax at 217-398-7721 or by email at [email protected].

Hello Krysta, You answered...

**** You will set your one Pmix up on your Pmix switch, but if you make the other mix active, it will also activate with the same switch.
I apoligize in advance for possibly being dense... but I still don't understand. 1. I do understand you can't assign task to another switch. 2. I "thought (?)" that maybe, both mixes worked off the same switch. 3. This is the part that I still don't understand.(See **** above in your quote. Evidently.... there is really only one choice..... either 1 OR 2, with that one switch. NEW Question... If I should program mix 2, how do I assign it when mix 1 is already on that switch? Can you toggle back and forth between the 2 mixes? Unless I missed something, the directions are not very clear in that area.
Thanks again.....lownslo....

question about programable mixes.

Hi Bob,

Please forgive me for not answering you, other portions of my job will keep me quite busy.

While you can do two separate mixes you must just remember that when you flip the switch it will make both of them active.

You can mix any two channels you wish with one Pmix, then mix a comination of either of these to the second Pmix or mix two more entirely different mixes, BUT again, once you hit the switch, they will both become active.

There is no way to "toggle" between these mixes, you must go into one or the other and Inhibit one of them in the programming to make it not activated by the switch.
