Planing to Buy Futaba 4PK But Scared :(

Hello,
I,m Planning to Buy Futaba 4PK But Scared as it's Recommendation for Battery Receiver R604FS is a Nicd Only. I need to know is there any other Option rather than Using the Nicd battery Pack such as 7-Cell 8.4V 4200mAh NiMH along with Electronic Speed Control. I mean to say that I would hook the battery to the Electronic Speed Control.

I don't have any first hand experience with this system but I have done some research on it as well. Are you entirely sure that it recommends NiCd batteries? It could be listing them as an example. Besides virtually all Futaba receivers (including my 3 channel FM) feature a BEC which will supply the electronics with constant 6v power regardless of the battery type being used.

The reason for this warning is that the servos most often used with the receiver can produce high-current draw from your batteries. If you are using NiMH or LiPo batteries, make sure they are capable of delivering sufficient Amps to the servo.

I think HarisKhoso referred to an electric car with just one battery powering the ESC plus the motor and with the Rx powered by the BEC built-in to the Electronic Speed Controller. If this is the intended setup, then HarisKhoso just need to make sure that the BEC is capable of delivering the current to drive the steering servo and that BEC voltage is set properly, if it's configurable. Battery type would not matter as it would not connect to the Rx directly, but only through the ESC's BEC. Sorry for jumping in while not being a Futaba support person, maybe that will be still useful..

Cheers,

Smok
