Weight, torque, price, bsfc, rpm/prop type and size? Just because it makes a nice sound is not enough to make a purchasing decision. I'm afraid there are plenty of people that will make a decision on price alone though....

I saw that site a few months ago. I have no idea who buys this stuff. The twin inline is 2485 Euro. The triple is bound to be 50% more.

datas here: http://www.kolmengines.com/

i think it is very cool to construct such engines

from massive alu and steel-blocks,

every part cnc-designed and cnc cutted;

crankase optimal balanced with wolfram inserts,

the threads are made with steel-helicoil-inserts,

first quality and craftmanship in my point of view,

its the perfect addition to the moki radials, so the complete range of solid 4-stroke gas engine-types are covered through 1st class-brands made in good old europe

In concept I think it's a great idea. Unfortunately we have plenty of people that can't figure out what needles to turn to do what so adding a set of valves that would need periodic maintenance generates a service level that many modelers will not be competant to execute. If it can't be done on a keyboard they are functionally illerterate.

Give it a week and someone will be asking which of the Chinese makers will be handling the products............

I see the value in this engine and how it's made, that wasn't the point. It's lost on the US market, however. There must be a good number of those that have the choice between a turbine and a piston engine, but here the choice would be turbine. The actual price point isn't the issue. Some electric power systems can approach this and it seems to be cool to spend that kind of money. The Roto 4 stroke has been available for a while now and how much discussion has there been? The number of customers for this type of engine must be small, but maybe it's bigger than I imagine.

I love the mustang and that is a good video. I know they are very expensive engines like the moki's. They have a great sound.

I like the one that they have removed the cowl and you can see the engine for a bit.

OK! you got me. Now I need to go rob a bank............
I love the scale type frame on the engine.
When are you going to put the 200cc on your website?
One more question, why was the P-51 used as a platform? Favorite airframe, best fit, what?

Good morning, thats the Kolm engines website, i.am just a little fan of him, the engines are tested out several hours and months, then they are available, best you use kontakt-sheet on his Website.

T.O.M.,

You're always saying people here are too cheap to buy quality engines. Put your money where your mouth is and buy one. The 130 twin is a deal under $3500.00 for a production four stroke engine making 12hp at 8.5 pounds and less than 12.5" wide. About the same weight and power as a 3W 110 two stroke with cannister mufflers.

Beats the heck out of the prototype engine posted here several years ago! How much was that one?

You could buy three ZDZ Super 160's for that price.
